Colombia
We were warned not to go, but the stars aligned and it seemed that despite the warnings, it was the right thing to do. Thanks to a grant in 2009 for one month of free flights from Jet Blue, Seth Maxwell (the founder of The Thirst Project) and I made our way to Medellin, Colombia in what has officially been the craziest 5 days of my life to date. The purpose was to do ground research and gather data regarding the needs of clean water. Since going, a well has been built providing clean water to 500 people.
